Obituary of Richard Nathan Tucker

Richard Tucker, born November 2, 1940, in Hornell, New York, passed away peacefully at home in Punta Gorda, Florida on February 26, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Mary Tucker, his sister Mary Ellen Tucker Westlake, and brother-in-law James Lange. He is survived by his sisters Joyce (Kenneth) Hance, Marjorie Lange, children Carol Linskey, Catherine (David) Merrett, William Linskey, Richard (Wendyii) Tucker II, Alicia (Michael) Oates and Keith (Samantha) Tucker. He is also survived by grandchildren Amber Merrett, Melissa Merrett, Ashlyi (Andrew) Butzow, Oryi Tucker, Tyler Oates, Chasity Oates, Jase Oates, Kaedyn Oates, Scott Tucker, Dakota Tucker and great-grandchildren Leila, Bailey, Tommy, Rosalie, Avaleigh, Kendyll, and many nieces and nephews. His early years were spent in rural Alfred, New York. After graduating Alfred Almond Central School, he moved to Daytona Beach, Florida for racing and fishing. He eventually moved to the southwest Florida coast to be closer to his parents, and settled in Punta Gorda, FL. He worked hard as an auto mechanic but played even harder on the weekends fishing shark tournaments, camping, or just enjoying the outdoors. He traveled to every state in the United States except Hawaii. Even after retirement, his favorite place to be outside watching the birds and squirrels. A private service will be announced at a later time.
